A. The book I'm reading is called Rifles for Watie. It is written Harold Keith.
B. I started reading this book because I needed a book to add to the TAG reading list. I thought that this would be a good one
C. This book takes place in the U.S. during the Civil WAr
D. The tone of this book is very sad. Many young boys fighting in the war die.
E. When I first started reading this book I was entranced. Then as I got to the army and fighting part, I became sad. I felt sorry for the soldiers. They had to live in such hard conditions
F. I like Noah wouldn't look forward to a battle, and also I'm helpless on a horse
G. No. I wouldn't because all of them are fighting in a war. I really don't want to fight in a war because I might die. Also the conditions the soldiers live in are horrible.
H. No. I wouldn't because the U.S. is in a war and I might get drafted to fight.
I. If the Jeff Bussey moved into my house, he would be extremely bored. If my impression of him is correct, he loves adventures. Since my family doesn't go on many, he would be bores
J. YEs, I would recommend this book to all kids in 5th grade or up
K. This book has to many settings. There are battles all over western U.S.

I just finished reading Hawksong, my 19th Lone Star book. It is a excellent book by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.
Pages: 243/243
Setting: In a fantasy world where Avians (people who can turn into birds) and the Serpiente(people who ca turn into snakes. The book never mentions the time but I would think that it is in the past because they use Bow and Arrows to fight.
Summary: This book is about the leaders of warring races wanting to make peace by marrying each other, and eventually they succeed
Vocab words: Garnet- a dark to very dark red I've started using this word instead of dark red Sweltering - extremely hot I've started using this word to describe Texas Coronation - the act of crowning a sovereign I've seen this word a lot in other book and now I know its meaning Disseminate - spread, as in spread information I've started using this word instead of spread Paraphrase - a restatement of a passage to clarify its meaning I now know what this word
External Conflict: One example of external conflict is when the Avian and Serpiente armies fight
Internal Conflict: One example oF internal conflict is when Danica decides whether or not she should trust Zane Cobriana.
I think this is an excellent book, as are most of the other Lone Star books and everyone should read it. |

Eagle Strike is a very good book by Anthony Horowitz. It is one of the many books in Alex Rider series, all of which are good. Pages: I've read all 256 pages Setting: Alex lives in England in the present, but he travels to various places in the world. Summary: This book is about a 14 year-old secret agent who tries to stop a guy from using the U.S's nuclear missiles to blow up drug farms.
bizarre- wierd, odd, far-fetched I've started to use this word instead of wierd mauve- a gray-violet color I've started using it to describe purple looming- to come into view as a massive object I've started using it in my writing, instead of giant Chaotic- crazy I've started using this word instead of crazy teeming- filled, full I've started using this word to describe the mall and such
External Conflict: When Alex fights Damian Cray in the Air Force One Internal Conflict: Whether to give Damian the all-important flash drive for Sabrina, his friend
I think this is a really good book! I can't wait for the rest of the books starring Alex Rider. |

| | humming of computer | ] | I just finished all 262 pages in the book Lion Boy: The Chase. It is a very good book by Zizou Corder (aka Louisa Young).
Setting: the main characters travels to many parts of Europe, including Paris, Venice, and Vence (in France). The time is sometime in the future, the author doesn't say
External conflict: Primo, the saber-toothed cat, fights off the Doge's guards
Internal conflict: Charlie has to decide which city to travel to next, in search of his parents
Favorite character: Primo, the saber-toothed cat is my favorites character. He was cloned by scientist but escaped and started traveling with Charlie and the rest of the lions. There he got named Primo by the oldest lion. I like him best because he takes place in all the action scenes
Other characters: Charlie is a cat-speaking boy who is trying to save his parents who were kidnapped. Sergei is an allergenie (a cat who causes asthma) who carries information between Charlie and his captured parents. The lions are a group of circus lions that were kidnapped from Africa. Charlie eventually escapes with them and they are returned to there home. Rafi is the bad guy. He is the one who kidnapped Charlie's parents because the asthma medicine companies don't want a cure for asthma.
Summary: This book is about a boy named charlie who's parents have been kidnapped because they made a cure for asthma. In this second book, charlie visits Venice thinking that his parents are there, but doesn't find them. His parents are actually in Vence. The cat, Sergei carries messages between parents and son until they finally meet up in Africa, where Charlie is going to free the lions.
Recommendation: I think everyone should read this book. It is excellent!!!!
Choosing: I chose this book to read because I had read the first one and I though it was really good. |

| | sister humming (very annoying) | ] | Today I just finished reading the whole 459 pages in "The Sea of Trolls" It is a really good book by Nancy Farmer. It's setting is sometime in the magical past and is located in Europe for half the time, and the fantasy world of Jotunheim for the other. One example of external conflict is when Olaf One-Brow fought the troll bear. One example of internal conflict is when Jack wonders which animal he might want to turn into when he has the skill to do so.
My favorite character is Olaf One-Brow who is a berserker and a very good fighter. When he drinks this one potion, he becomes a wild berserker that kills everything. Olaf also fought a troll bear to save Jack's life and I think that that was very brave.
Some other characters include Jack, who's training to become a bard, Lucy, his sister, and Thorgil, a girl who wants to become one of the Queen's Shield Maidens.
The main plot of the story is Jack and his sister get captured by berserkers and sent to the evil Queen Frith who takes Lucy as a sacrifice to Freya because Jack made her hair fall off. Since Jack doesn't know how to put it back on he has to travel through Jotunheim, city of trolls, fight of troll-beasts (carnivores that have been enlarged to become deadlier), to drink from Mimir's well. This will give him great wisdom, enough to put back on Frith's hair. In the end, Jack does so (except for the fact that Frith's hair grew all over her body, but that's not his fault) and gets sent back to his home.
I recommend this book to everyone because it is really good.
I chose this book to read because 1) it is a Lonestar book 2)It sounded good. |

SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN IF YOU HAVEN'T READ SPINE OF THE WORLD
Today I just finished reading "The Spine of the World" (a total of 381 pages). It's a very good book about a place known as the forgotten realms in a time when magic exists. "The Spine of the World" is written by R.A. Salvatore
This whole book is about the adventures of Wulfgar the Barbarian and Morik the Rogue. I tells about the epic exploits through towns and a little about there histories.
There is lots of conflict in this book. An example of external conflict is when Wulfgar and Morik fight and win against two people who tried to mug them. I think that they were underestimated because if you've read the book (which you should)or any of the other books in this series (which you should also do)you'll learn that Wulfgar is a very good fighter, especially when he has his magic warhammer, aegis-fang. Some example of internal conflict are when Wulfgar tries to rid his mind of the awful memories of his captivity in Erttu's hands. Also when Morik has to decide whether to save his own life and run away, or to leap into mortal danger to save the life of a friend.
Morik the Rogue is my favorite character. He is a funny, witty little human who has survived for many years in the notorious streets of Luskan. His goals in life are:
1. stay alive
2.make money
I think that he is awesome and is the best character.
This is a very good book and I think, like I stated above ( if you read it), that you should read this book and all the other books in this series. |

| | high | ] | I finished dragon rider yesterday. It is very good. I like the ending a lot. The one thing I don't get is why in all the books the good guys win, but that's beside the point. Anyways I think that though it is a bit childish and missing the fighting action needed to make a good book better, it is very good and everybody should read it. |

Recently I've read Eldest. I think it is better than Eragon. It has a huge war at the end and I think Chris Paolini described very well. For all those who read this I think you have to read this book. I'd like to hear your comments. |
